Upon arrival into the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, the original safari capital of the world, and as you exit the Immigration and Customs Hall, you will be met by the Ivory Safaris representative with a big Jambo! (lookout for a sign board with your family name displayed) and transferred to your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, drive towards the snow-covered peaks of Mount Kenya situated on the equator. From the safety of Mountain Lodge, a tree hotel built on stilts in a forest clearing and facing the peaks of Mount Kenya, experience the unexpected in game viewing opportunities. The verandahs and game viewing areas also face a floodlit waterhole which allows for night game viewing. Rooms have private bathrooms.

Your safari destination today will be the Samburu Game Reserve located in the semi-arid region of Northern Kenya. In the morning drive past Mount Kenya, and across the Equator before arriving at Samburu. Despite the rugged terrain and sparse vegetation over most of this region, wildlife thrives due to the life sustaining water of the Uaso Nyiro River and is especially concentrated in the forest gallery along both its banks. A game drive is scheduled in the afternoon.

Game to be seen includes unique species such as the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy Zebra, Gerenuk and Oryx.

Enjoy taking morning and afternoon game drives in pursuit of Big Five game. Midday is free for a leisurely nap, or to relax at the poolside.

bulletDay 5: Samburu / Lake Naivasha
Driving from the arid region of Samburu you will traverse the massive Rift Escarpment to reach Lake Naivasha on the valley floor. Situated in the shadow of Mount Longonot, this 'sunshine' lake is a favorite stopover enroute to the Masai Mara. The lake has been described as a 'bewilderment of birds' with a population of up to 400 different species and lush green vegetation. In the afternoon, time and weather permitting, take a boat trip to Crescent Island for a short walk along the shores where you can spot zebra and plains game.

Game to be seen includes: waterbuck, zebra, impala, hippo.

bulletDay 6: Lake Naivasha / Masai Mara (Northern Serengeti)
Cross the great Rift Valley floor to the home of the Masai tribe, Masai Mara. Forming part of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara offers to the visitor perhaps the greatest diversity of wildlife in Kenya. In the afternoon a game drive is scheduled.

Game which may be seen include: Eland, Wildebeest, Hippo, Warthog, Topi, Lion, Cheetah.

Early morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled. Optional excursion, and at an additional cost, is the early morning Balloon Safari-the hot air balloon takes off slowly at dawn, rising and floating above the Savannah plains... absolutely thrilling! In the event you are not organizing the optional Balloon Safari, undertake an extended game drive with a picnic. 

Game to be seen may include: Elephant, Eland, Hartebeest and Cheetah.

In the morning return to Nairobi, arriving by late lunchtime.

The Safari Includes:
- Meet/greet/transfer services on arrival and departure
- Accommodation as indicated, or similar, in twin-bedded rooms with private bathrooms (double beds are limited and cannot be guaranteed)
- Meals as indicated-generally full board accommodation on safari; bed/breakfast in Nairobi
- Starting stocks of mineral water in the vehicle
- Private safari vehicles with English speaking driver/guides; shared vehicles at the luxury camps
- Window seating
- Game viewing drives
- Park entrance fees
