For individuals wishing an experience of East Africa, its wildlife and people at a reasonable cost, camping expeditions are a great alternative. Being part of a group can be an experience in itself and make the safari all the more exciting, not to mention meeting new friends.
Our camping safari associates have successfully operated camping safaris and have earned a good reputation for their quality service. For the budget tours, purpose built expedition trucks with good ground clearance to allow for game viewing and photography are used, and which have space to pack all the necessary equipment/luggage. With this arrangement, the driver is also the guide, while the cook will prepare fresh food over camp fires. Radio communication is often used in vehicles to maintain contact especially when on safari to remote locations.Tents are normally set upon arrival at selected camp sites; in some seasonal sites such as the Masai Mara and Samburu, stand up tents with mattresses may be used; at unique destinations such as Lake Turkana, traditional Turkana huts in semi permanent beach side campsite are provided.
Please note that the services are most basic and you are expected to assist with camp chores.
